Lexie Gardner
ReplyDeleteI own all three fabulous books.
I was a visual minor at Cab in middle school, though that doesn't really count.
I hope to study the lives of artists, and the origins of their talent and inspiration.
Miranda Rosaio
ReplyDeleteI have all three books and an extra copy of Gods and Heroes in Art.
I've been a visual major since sixth grade, so I'm assuming I am well aquatinted with visual arts.
I learn more about art in history than I do in art (but shhh, don't tell Mr. Hanel); I'd love to understand imagery in art and how it's been used to portray stories over the centuries.
Aubrey Arnold.
ReplyDeleteI've ordered the books on the internet but they're not here yet.
I've been a visual art major since sixth grade and my family goes to art museums a lot.
I just hope to enjoy the class and learn all I can about art and how it has developed across the years. Or in shorter terms, it combines art and history, my two favorite subjects!

ReplyDeleteThe books for summer work are being shipped as we speak.. or rather as I type? (now two have arrived, and are beautiful!)
I have a good background in art- I have been raised in and around art, have attended various art classes for many years, and, of course, I have learned very much from Mr. Hanel as an art major.
In the coming year I hope to accumulate a greater background in the history of art and of different styles of art that have been practiced through the ages, and to develop skills to effectively analyze and discuss pieces of art.
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Dyke
ReplyDeleteI've acquired all three books.
I have little to no experience with visual arts, but I find it very interesting.
I hope to have a better interpretation of what the artist is trying to convey through a painting. Also, I'd love to look at how art has evolved over the years and how it started.
Joyelle Gilbert
ReplyDeleteI have obtained all three books.
I have been a visual arts major since 9th grade so I imagine I have at least some experience in the visual arts.
I hope to follow the development of the styles of art throughout history and find how events in history have been impacted by art as well as how those events have changed the various visual art forms.
Thank you everyone for your comments, I am very excited to have all of you!
ReplyDeleteI am still missing the following people:

I only just ordered the books, it took me a little while to get the money for them. They should be here in the next week.
I have a lifetime of love for the visual arts, and five years of formal arts experience at Cab.
I hope to expand my understanding of how art has matured and changed over time, and how it affects humanity. I am also interested in symbolism, origins of common symbols as well as more obscure, and how use of symbols has been maintained over time.
Thanks Olivia!
DeleteCan I take this class again?
